So another Thanksgiving has come and gone and Christmas will be here before you know it. Papa Greg and Tony went to our cousins in Richmond, Virginia for Thanksgiving.
LaDee, WooWho and I get car sick so we choose to stay home to take advantage of the peace and quiet and reflect on all that we are thankful for. It's not quiet the same without our papas, but we understand the whole extended family-thing. Plus they bring back great stories and photos to share with us.
We have never met our cousins Ginger and Titan so we love it when we get to see their pictures.
We hope that everyone and a Happy Thanksgiving and we want to go ahead and wish everyone a very Merry and Happy Holiday Season. Bark at'cha later.
Papa Tony just gave me some sad news. Gus a one-eyed, three legged dog from Gulfport, Florida has died. Gus, was a Chinese crested dog with cancer who was rescued from a bad home and went on to won the title of World's Ugliest Dog this past summer. His adopted family said they rescued him after they heard he was was being kept in a crate in someone's garage. Gus lost a leg because of a skin tumor and lost an eye in a cat fight. On behalf of Woofer, WooHoo and my 7 fur-ball siblings I live with I'd like to pay tribute to Gus who lost his battle with cancer and passed away at his home on Monday. Gus was 9 years old.
I love my brother Woofer, but I suggested to him that maybe he should compete for that title next year. I mean that in a good way, really I do.
Last night I was sleeping on Papa Greg while he was working on a huge project. That's my way of "TRYING" to stay out of trouble. When I woke up I noticed he was reading an online story about an awesome aussie K9 named Leo. Leo risked his life by refusing to leave a 4 week old litter of kittens in a house fire. Firefighters had to revive Leo with oxygen and heart massage. The kittens survived. Leo, the kittens, the mother of the kittens and the family have all been reunited. Way to go Leo. I'll remember you to Saint Francis of Assisi.
While LaDee, Woofer and I were out for our stroll earlier today we noticed that there was a chill in the air. The nights have become cooler also. It must have something to do with this season change Papa Greg was talking about, "Fall". I don't mind at all because I get to snuggle with Papa Greg. Papa Tony says its going to get cooler still and that out trips to the park will be less frequent because of the weather. We made a video of the view from the park so I could look at it when its too cold to go out. It will give me something to look forward until the Spring gets here and I can go play in the park again.
So each morning I get to spend some one-on-one time with my Papa Tony. Before the rest of the family wakes up Papa Tony and I take a walk to Fisk Park so we can watch the sunrise over New York City. It never ceases to amaze us how beautiful a sunrise can be over the city.
A few weeks ago we were out for our morning walk and I was stalking a few pigeons when I heard some munching coming from above me on a fence. Check out what I saw.
My only experience with water is when I am forced to take a bath. So when I saw on the news that a fellow terrier, named Jake, about my size was snatched by a rather large creature called a shark while swimming in a marina I got a little freaked out. Can a shark thing snatch me in the tub???
Thankfully Jakes owner, Greg Le Noir, saw the shark and dove in and with his fist punched the shark as hard as he could and the shark released Jake. Fortunately both Jake and Greg were able to swim to shore safely. When Greg was asked why he dove in after the shark he said that Jake was like a child to his wife and him and he was not going to abandon him.
Chances are slim to ain't gonna happen that I will be swimming in any water any where any time EVER so I feel pretty safe that I won't have to worry about a 5 foot long dog eat'n shark creature sneaking up and snatching me.
Greg LeNoir dove in after his dog, Jake, to save him from a 5-foot shark.
Recently we heard abut a horrible disease that is killing many of our bat friends. They are so important to kill bugs and regulate crops. I know that poppa Greg is very upset at this new finding sine he is so interested in saving energy and the environment.
It seems now that Wind Towers are causing problems to our bat friends. It's not what it seems tho. They are not getting cut up in the blades, instead the air pressure is causing them their chest to explode. Until this is researched and solved I have to come account against wind mil technology in synsative areas. This is actual a huge change in my thoughts but we definitely need to think things through as more info is available. This arcticle explains part of it. However it doesn't go deep into why the air pressure is changing their chest pressure and causing them to explode.
It does make me think that I may no longer be for wind alternative energy. We need to save our BATS!
I know our daddies think that we are weird because we get so scared of thunder and loud noises, well Poppa Greg found a story and video this morning that should make them feels better. At least we're not scared to get a little dirty every now and then.
Daddy Greg was reading me a story this morning and it got me thinking. I know I am a valuable member of the family, but I've always wondered what good all of these cats are? Only one of them ever plays with me at all and the others mostly just lay around, scratch things, eat and make messes.
Well I think I found something that could solve this! Why not make them station masters at all of the PATH stations around here? I know it can be done. Read this story to find out what I mean...
